TYRE REPLACEMENT ON SITE
Blowout or sidewall damage? We bring a new tyre and fit it at your truck or trailer, with a torque wrench and a pressure check.
NEW TYRES IN COMMON SIZES
The van carries 315/70, 315/80, 385/65 and 385/55 R22.5 and other sizes from R17.5. Budget brands from stock, Continental, Goodyear, Bridgestone or Michelin on request.
Wheel balancing
We balance the wheel after every tyre fitting. The truck runs smoother, the steering wheel stops shaking and the new tyre wears more evenly.
Rim replacement
If the rim is bent or cracked, we replace it together with the tyre. Driving on a damaged rim is not safe.
Valve replacement
A leaking valve lets the tyre lose air slowly. We fit a new valve on site and check that the wheel holds pressure.
Truck tyre change on site: how it works
Our mobile truck tyre service changes the tyre where your truck or trailer stands. The van carries new tyres, a jack rated up to 60 t, an impact wrench and a wheel balancer. In most cases a new tyre is the safe choice: a tyre that ran without air usually has a damaged casing. We repair only a fresh puncture in the tread with an intact casing. The technician tells you honestly before fitting.

WHEEL REMOVAL
The technician secures the work area, lifts the truck with a jack rated up to 60 tonnes and takes the wheel off. Then he checks the tread and the sidewall. This shows whether a repair makes sense or a new tyre is needed. In most cases the answer is a tyre change.

FITTING THE NEW TYRE
The technician fits a new tyre of the right size and load index on the rim, fits a new valve if needed and checks the rim for cracks. A repair is the exception: only a fresh puncture in the tread with an intact casing.

WHEEL BALANCING
After fitting, the technician balances the wheel with a mobile balancer right at the breakdown site. You do not need to find a workshop along your route. A balanced wheel runs without vibration. This protects the suspension, and the new tyre wears evenly from the first kilometre.

WHEEL MOUNTING AND INSPECTION
We mount the wheel, tighten the nuts crosswise with a torque wrench and set the pressure. Finally we check for air leaks and the wheel seat.

LOAD INDEX
The load index shows how much weight a truck tyre can carry safely. On tractor units and trailers a difference of 2–4 points matters in hard braking or a sudden manoeuvre. If you often drive fully loaded, choose tyres with a reserve in load rating. When we change a tyre on the road, we match the size and the load index you have on that axle today.

TYRE SIZE
The right tyre size comes from the vehicle papers, the axle load and the suspension type, not from how the tyre looks. A wrong size wears faster, runs hotter and can put the vehicle's road approval at risk. So before we set off, we ask you for the size printed on the sidewall.

TREAD DEPTH
The legal minimum in Germany is 1.6 mm (§ 36 StVZO). Tyre makers recommend more for the drive axle: a shallow tread grips worse in the wet and stops longer. You feel it most:
– on wet Autobahn sections
– on Alpine climbs
– on icy winter routes
Change tyres in time. It costs less than a fine and downtime.

TYRE PRESSURE
Continental data: around 40% of truck tyre failures are caused by low pressure. Too little air overheats the tyre, too much weakens the casing. Set the pressure for the load and the axle, not by eye. After fitting a new tyre we set it and check it with a gauge.

TYRE ROTATION
With uneven wear, swapping tyres between axles or sides makes the whole set last longer. The tread wears more evenly. The right interval depends on the vehicle and the job. A long-haul tractor unit wears tyres differently from a tipper on a building site. Ask the technician about it when we change your tyre.

RIMS
Rust on the contact surface or hairline cracks in the rim cause wheel run-out. In the worst case the tyre bursts at speed. On every callout we also check the rims, to catch the problem before it turns into costly downtime.

Why does the dispatcher ask for the tyre size and the axle?
The size on the sidewall, for example 385/65 R22.5, tells us which tyre to bring. We also ask about the axle: steer, drive or trailer.
