Blown Tire on the A45 near Wetzlar-Haar
A Volvo FH towing a Krone box trailer had a tyre blowout on the A45 at the Wetzlar interchange, where the motorway crosses the Lahn valley. The rear nearside trailer tyre exploded at highway speed and the debris spread across the right lane before the driver pulled onto the hard shoulder just past the junction exit ramp. No other vehicles were struck. Wetzlar sits at the convergence of the A45 and B49 in Hesse, a node for industrial and automotive supply chain freight connecting Gießen and Dillenburg. The motorway here is elevated on viaduct sections, and hard shoulder access is limited near the interchange itself. LKWHelp24 took the call at 12:05. The nearest van came from the Gießen direction on the B49, reaching the hard shoulder in forty-nine minutes. The blown tyre was a 385/65 R22.5 trailer unit, completely destroyed from the bead up.
