Midway through a Tuesday afternoon run on the A43 northbound, the driver of a DAF XF pulling a Schmitz curtainsider noticed the truck handling slightly differently as he passed the Haltern am See junction. A quick stop at the next layby confirmed a slow puncture on the nearside trailer axle, with the 385/65 R22.5 tyre visibly dropping pressure. LKWHelp24 arrived within 42 minutes. The puncture was a nail that had worked its way through the tread and seated deep enough to let air bleed slowly without any audible hiss. We unseated the tyre using our portable bead breaker, located the entry point and fitted a new commercial tyre in its place. The inner liner was inspected, the rim cleaned and the new tyre inflated and pressure-checked. All remaining trailer positions were verified before we cleared the vehicle. Haltern am See sits between the A43 and A52, making it a natural routing point for freight moving between the Ruhr industrial belt and the northern distribution centres in Marl and Recklinghausen. Loads heading toward Dorsten and Waltrop pass through this corridor daily. A slow puncture left unattended on a trailer axle can quickly progress into a full sidewall failure at motorway speed. This driver caught it early, and we had the trailer road-ready again within 50 minutes of arriving on site. No recovery vehicle was needed.
Slow flat on a Schmitz trailer on A43 near Haltern, called at 15:10 and they were there by 15:52. Tyre changed on the hard shoulder, no fuss.
DAF XF steer position losing pressure near Marl junction. Technician arrived within the hour and patched the tyre properly from inside.
Krone trailer flat tyre spotted at Recklinghausen layby, LKWHelp24 sorted the 385 size quickly. Solid roadside work, back moving fast.
Blowout on drive axle near Dorsten late evening. New tyre fitted on site inside 50 minutes. Definitely saving this number.
