A Mercedes-Benz Actros 1848 leaving a Bonn industrial estate onto the A555 toward Erftstadt caught a concrete kerb ramp at the on-ramp. The driver heard a double thump: the nearside steer tyre and the first trailer axle tyre had both taken the hit. Neither blew out immediately but within 400 metres both were flat. The truck pulled onto the A555 hard shoulder at the Bornheim lay-by. The driver called LKWHelp24 at 16:20 and reported two flat tyres on different axles. The service van was dispatched from the Sankt Augustin direction and arrived in 45 minutes. The technician assessed both damaged tyres: the steer tyre sidewall had a V-shaped split, and the trailer tyre had a kerb-impact deformation across the inner shoulder bead area. Both were beyond repair. Working through rush-hour traffic noise with cones and lights properly positioned, the technician replaced the 315/80 R22.5 steer tyre first, then moved to the trailer axle to fit a new 385/65 R22.5. Torque sequences were applied to each. Bead and valve seating were confirmed on both before the cones came in. The Actros was back on the A555 by 18:35. A two-axle roadside job during peak hours had been completed in just over two hours. The driver made the Erftstadt delivery on the late slot.
