How we solved this call-out
On arrival we first secured the truck: warning triangle, hi-vis vest and a safe working area are always our first step. Then we inspected the damaged wheel, lifted the truck safely, loosened the wheel nuts and removed the defective wheel. In the photo you can see the dismounted truck wheel right behind the trailer – the exact moment the new wheel was ready to go on.
We then fitted the replacement wheel, torqued the nuts to the specified value and checked the tire pressure. The whole wheel change was done in around 45 minutes and the driver could continue his haul.
