How the call reached us
Late in the morning our emergency line rang. A dispatcher from an Eastern European haulage company reported that one of his drivers had come to a stop at the edge of town with a fully loaded curtain-side trailer – a wheel on the trailer axle had lost air on the road and was no longer roadworthy.
