STEERING SYSTEM FAILURE ON THE A20 NEAR ANKLAM – POWER STEERING LOSS AT HIGHWAY SPEED
The power steering system failed — the hydraulic pump seized, steering effort increased dramatically, and the truck became extremely difficult to control. The vehicle was heading eastbound toward Dresden on the A20 at highway speed when the driver felt the wheel lock up. He managed to pull over safely using emergency manoeuvres.
