ELECTRICAL FAILURE AND CAN BUS FAULT ON THE A20 NEAR GREIFSWALD – TRUCK EMERGENCY AT NIGHT
In April 2026, around 03:10 AM, a Romanian truck driver called our 24/7 hotline after a serious breakdown on the A99 near Greifswald, close to the Greifswald-West interchange.
The entire CAN bus network crashed — dashboard went blank, engine entered emergency shutdown, running lights failed, and the truck came to a stop on the hard shoulder without any warning other than a sudden loss of all instrument readings. The refrigerated trailer heading from Rostock toward Stettin could not be restarted by any means. The fault was unreachable without specialist diagnostics.
