AIR SYSTEM FAILURE ON THE A5 NEAR BADEN-BADEN – TRUCK EMERGENCY AT NIGHT
In February 2026, around 4:10 AM, a Romanian truck driver called our 24/7 hotline after a serious breakdown on the A5 near Baden-Baden, close to the Rastatt-Nord junction.
The air brake system failed without warning — a brake chamber ruptured under full load, causing the rear axle air suspension to collapse and making the vehicle unsafe to drive. The flatbed trailer was heading toward Basel on the A5 and had to stop immediately on the hard shoulder.
