GEARBOX FAILURE ON THE A98 NEAR LÖRRACH – TRUCK EMERGENCY AT NIGHT
In April 2026, around 03:10 AM, a Romanian truck driver called our 24/7 hotline after a serious breakdown on the A99 near Lörrach, close to the Lörrach-West interchange.
The automated gearbox control module failed completely — all gear engagement was lost, the selector display went blank, and the truck coasted to a halt on the hard shoulder with no drive. The refrigerated truck heading from Basel toward Freiburg had to stop immediately. The failure occurred close to the Swiss border, complicating recovery logistics.
