DPF PRESSURE SENSOR FAILURE ON THE A8 NEAR ULM – TRUCK EMERGENCY AT NIGHT
In April 2026, around 03:10 AM, a Romanian truck driver called our 24/7 hotline after a serious breakdown on the A99 near Ulm, close to the Ulm-West interchange.
The DPF differential pressure sensor failed and triggered a forced regeneration fault — the engine management system locked the vehicle into limp mode and prohibited further movement. The container truck heading from Stuttgart toward Munich had to stop on the hard shoulder immediately. Without clearing the fault codes and confirming DPF integrity, the truck could not continue.
We handled communication in Polish. The driver received a fixed-price quote for towing and workshop transport. After payment confirmation, a heavy-duty recovery vehicle was dispatched right away.
Our crew arrived in about 40 minutes. On-site diagnosis: overheated engine, failed transmission control unit, locked drivetrain, CAN bus fault. The entire rig was towed to a specialized truck workshop in greater Ulm. By 05:00 AM the vehicle was at the workshop and the driver informed about repair options.
