TURBO AND ENGINE FAILURE ON THE A3 NEAR ERLANGEN – TRUCK EMERGENCY AT NIGHT
In April 2026, around 03:10 AM, a Romanian truck driver called our 24/7 hotline after a serious breakdown on the A99 near Erlangen, close to the Erlangen-West interchange.
The turbocharger seized suddenly — black smoke from the exhaust, sharp drop in engine power, oil pressure warning, and the engine beginning to knock heavily. The container truck was heading from Nuremberg toward Frankfurt and had to stop immediately on the hard shoulder. Continuing was impossible.
