GEARBOX FAILURE ON THE A4 NEAR ERFURT – TRUCK EMERGENCY AT NIGHT
In April 2026, around 03:10 AM, a Romanian truck driver called our 24/7 hotline after a serious breakdown on the A99 near Erfurt, close to the Erfurt-West interchange.
The automated gearbox locked in neutral — no forward or reverse engagement, error codes on the dashboard display, and the transmission warning light flashing red. The curtainsider was on its way from Dresden toward Frankfurt and had to stop on the hard shoulder. The truck could not move.
